Aaron Glenn Meets Media, Says Jets Plan to “Win Now”

Aaron Glenn may be taking over a Jets team without a viable quarterback on its roster while coming off of a 5-12 season, but he’s seems just fine with that.  “We’re here to win now” were his words to the press at the Combine in Indianapolis.  A bold statement from the rookie head coach as the NFL draft inches ever so closer.

Glenn was also asked about Aaron Rodgers, who the team decided to part ways with just a few weeks ago.  Glenn said he gets “pissed off” about what he viewed as “disrespect” to the other players on his roster due to the media obsession with Rodgers.  It seems Glenn wants as many guys as possible to get credit for what they bring to the table rather than having all of the focus on his quarterback.

Asked at one point if he spoke to defensive tackle Quinnen Williams about his “thumbs down” emoji following the Rodgers release, Glenn confirmed that he had, and said that the decision on Rodgers won’t be the first move he makes that people will be unhappy with.

While Aaron Glenn is in Indianapolis with GM Darren Mougey to find future Jets players, he says they’ll be seeking out “smart, tough, aggressive and resilient” players who love football.

Mougey also addressed the media and unsurprisingly said the Jets were open to moving up in the draft which is what it would likely take for Gang Green to land a new quarterback which should be the team’s top priority this offseason.
