Aaron Rodgers Saves Best for Least, Talks About Future

It may have been the least important game of the Jets season as Aaron Rodgers took on a Dolphins team that was essentially eliminated from playoff contention by halftime.  And Rodgers took that opportunity to have one of his best games as a Jet.

Gang Green came away with a 32-20 victory as Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdowns for the first time in Green and White.  The first of which marked the 500th of his career.  Tight end Tyler Conklin was the recipient of the historic toss.

At the start of the day Miami was scoreboard watching as they needed a victory and a Broncos loss against the Chiefs to make the playoffs.  But with the Chiefs playing their backups, Denver ran away with the win early on and the Dolphins knew their season was cooked.

Playing with backups at both tackle spots with Max Mitchell on the left side and Carter Warren on the right, Rodgers tried to work quickly early on.  Most of Rodgers’ throws during the opening quarter were short quick hitters that were doing little damage.  He would eventually start throwing intermediate and deep routes that hit a variety of receivers.

Davante Adams led all receivers with six catches for 88 yards while Allen Lazard had 71 yards on three catches.  The dynamic Garrett Wilson wasn’t as active as Adams but did haul in four catches for 51 yards.

The Jets defense achieved a rare feat in forcing four turnovers.  Ashtyn Davis led the way with a pair of interceptions while Will McDonald forced a fumble that was picked up by the defense to go along with another forced fumble by Quincy Williams and Eric Watts.

Asked about his future with the team after the game, Rodgers said he would be open to a return with the Jets and that if the team was not interested in his services, he would be willing to move on and start over elsewhere.
