Report: Mike Vrabel Interview With Jets Goes “Very Well”

As was reported by Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic earlier today, the Jets met with former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel to interview for their vacant coaching spot.  Now Connor Hughes of SNY says the interview went “very well”.

According to Hughes, the interest from Vrabel is mutual, but other teams will come calling.  The Bears, Saints and Raiders could all be interested in Vrabel’s services while the Patriots could emerge if they part ways with current head coach Jerrod Mayo.

Vrabel has been rumored to be at or near the top of the Jets wish-list this hiring cycle but they were unable to interview him until his consultancy deal with the Cleveland Browns ended last week.

Things could get interesting if the Raiders and Patriots get involved in a battle for Vrabel with his former teammate, Tom Brady, now a part owner in Oakland.

Vrabel owns a career record of 54-45 while going 2-3 in three playoff appearances.
