Hapless Jets Latest Loss Raises More Questions About Future

Hoping to get back on track against the Colts, the now 3-8 New York Jets fell 28-27 with the loss raising more questions about the team’s future.

First and foremost is the Aaron Rodgers dilemma.  The quarterback reportedly wants to come back in 2025, but if last night’s loss is any indication of what he’s got left in the tank, he may be best served riding off in to the sunset.

It was yet another night of dinking and dunking up and down the field for Rodgers.  His receivers made some big plays after the catch to dress up the box score a bit, but Rodgers looked indecisive with the ball and kept everything within a few yards of the line of scrimmage.

In fact, Rodgers has attempted just six passes beyond 10 yards in the team’s last two games.  This, despite having Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams at his disposal.

There were also more mistakes from cornerback Sauce Gardner who allowed several big catches.  One that got the Colts to the 1-yard line and another that set up Indy’s game-winning score.  Whoever the team hires as their new GM a couple of months from now will have to decide if Gardner is worth keeping around or a trade chip to acquire draft capital.

Then there’s Wilson, who has, over the past few seasons, appeared to grow increasingly agitated at all of the losing that goes on at 1 Jets Drive.  Will another miserable season lead to Wilson hoping to move on?
