The head coach was different, the offensive coordinator was different, but the bottom line was very much the same. A sloppy outing from the New York Jets in which they committed 11 penalties for 100 yards.
That’s not to say the offense didn’t show signs of life, because it certainly did. Aaron Rodgers threw for 296 yards, Breece ran for 113 and both Allen Lazard and Garrett topped the 100 yard mark at 114 and 107 respectively.
On defense however, the Jets had no answer for the Bills running game as Buffalo piled up 149 yards on the ground and ran it down the Jets throats at key points in the game.
But ultimately flags and physical errors cost the Jets the game. A dropped TD pass from Garrett Wilson, a touchdown called back due to a Tyron Smith penalty and a couple of missed field goals was just too much to overcome.
The Pittsburgh Steelers swarming defense is up next on the road. Good luck in that one.
