The Jets have made some notable roster moves ahead of their Monday Night Football meeting with the Buffalo Bills.
The team elevated tight end Anthony Firkser and safety Jalen Mills to teh active roster from the practice squad while also activating defensive tackle Leki Fotu. The addition of Fotu should help beef up a sometimes leaky run defense.
Firkser getting the nod to join the active roster makes sense as the Jets current tight ends have been abysmal as blockers while Firkser, an established vet, played for Todd Downing in Tennessee. While Firkser is far from an elite blocker, he should offer an upgrade in that department.
Mills is another veteran who could help out in sub packages or be asked to step in for added reps with Michael Carter out with a hamstring injury.
Expect Holmes to come back as a member of the practice squad if he goes unclaimed.
