An interesting note out of Cleveland that could impact the Jets as defensive lineman Quinten Jefferson may be on the way out. A healthy scratch this week as Cleveland gets some bodies back off of IR, Jefferson could come in handy for Jeff Ulbrich and company.
The Jets defense, while one of the best in the league as a whole, has struggled at times against the run and could use a more consistent presence up the middle against the pass.
This is where Jefferson could come in. The big man played extremely well next to Quinnen Williams last season and has picked up six tackles and a sack in backup duty in Cleveland.
Scott Petrak of Brownszone.com points out that the veteran Williams will sit this week’s game out while rookie Mike Hall Jr. is active.
Last season with the Jets, Jefferson logged a career high six sacks to go along with 34 tackles, four of which were for loss.
