So Long Saleh; Jets FIRE Head Coach Following 2-3 Start
Robert Saleh is no more. Following a 2-3 start, Jets owner Woody Johnson has made the unprecedented move of firing a head coach in-season.
Saleh becomes the first ever Jets coach to be fired during the season since Johnson purchased the team in January of 2000. With Super Bowl aspirations, the Jets are off to a disappointing start as their sputtering offense has been unable to support a dominant defense.
Their loss in Minnesota to the Vikings was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
With Saleh out, defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will take over as the team’s interim head coach for the remainder of this season according to a statement released by Johnson.
The Jets will take the field this Monday night against the Buffalo Bills with a chance to tie the Bills for the division lead if they’re able to jump to 3-3.
