Jets GM Joe Douglas has added a familiar face to Gang Green’s practice squad in safety Jalen Mills. Douglas and Mills are familiar with each other from their time together in Philadelphia. A former seventh round pick of the Eagles in 2016, Mills has played both safety and cornerback.
NFL insider Adam Schefter was first to break the news of the Mills signing.
With nickel corner Michael Carter nursing a high ankle sprain and safety Ashtyn Davis recently being benched, it’s possible Mills has a shot to make it to the active roster.
In 106 career games (83 starts), Mills has racked up 406 tackles, 53 passes broken up, and seven interceptions.
