Jets Injury Update (Tuesday)

The New York Jets Injury report for Tuesday provided some updates that we already knew. Jermaine Johnson is out for the year with an Achilles injury, and CJ Mosley also missed practice with a toe injury he sustained against the Titans. They had a few players limited and Tyron Smith had his vet day off as the team works to keep him healthy. Robert Saleh was asked to give updates on some players and here is the Q&A he had with the media on Tuesday.

CJ Mosley, DJ Reed & Michael Carter II

Yeah Michael Carter, like I said, it’s going to be an on and off thing. He’s going to be fine. D.J. Reed is progressing well and so is CJ Mosley.

How do you go about evaluating them Robert, short week and haven’t had a real practice?

Yeah, it’s more feel. Today, we are going to do a full speed individual, which will kind of tell us a lot about where they’re at to get their bodies moving and try to get rid of some of that lactic acid from the game, but it it’s a little bit tougher on a short week.

If CJ can’t go, who wears it?

Jamien Sherwood is our MIKE. A lot of faith in Sherwood.

Super comfortable with Jamien. He’s done a phenomenal job developing as a professional football player. Full confidence in him to call the defense, make the checks that need to be made. He’s got elite mental speed and elite communication skills, so not worried about him playing ball at all.

Increased snaps for Will McDonald?

I would imagine so, but at the same time the objective doesn’t change because he’s one of our best pass rushers, so the rotation is going to be one that has him ready to play third down and two-minute.

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
