Florham Park, NJ July 19, 2023 -- Cornerback, DJ Reed being interviewed as players arrived today to participate in the NY Jets 2023 Training Camp at their practice facility in Florham Park, NJ.
After a disappointing loss to San Francisco in Week 1, New York heads to Nashville to take on the 0-1 Tennessee Titans. Cornerback DJ Reed, who was listed as “limited” on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury, was held out of Friday’s practice and was listed as questionable entering the weekend. Now officially listed as out for today’s game, either Brandin Echols or a young unproven player will have to take over in his absence. Fellow defensive back Michael Carter II, who has been dealing with a “lingering” ankle injury according to head coach Robert Saleh, was limited this week but has no injury designation. He will suit up and play for New York’s top-end secondary. Defensive end Micheal Clemons (triceps) was listed as questionable, but he will play. The only offensive injury of note on the injury report was wide receiver Mike Williams (knee), as expected. Saleh said they were hoping to get him 15 snaps in the opener, but he finished with just nine snaps. New York will look to increase that number in Week 2.
