Could the Jets be without cornerback DJ Reed this Sunday when they take on the Tennessee Titans? It seems like a distinct possibility after Reed was held out of practice on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday.
Earlier in the week, head coach Robert Saleh didn’t sound overly concerned as he expected Reed to practice today despite the batting a knee injury but things didn’t play out that way.
Reed is the second of the Jets top three corners to be dealing with an injury as nickel corner Michael Carter is working through a high ankle sprain that Saleh said he expects to linger. With both Reed and Carter at less than 100%, expect some roster moves before kickoff on Sunday.
The team will likely have Brandin Echols ready to start in place of Reed if he can’t go, but Echols is also the number one backup for Carter. Should Carter have to leave the game early as he did in week 1, Jarrick Bernard-Converse will likely be active and ready to see some live action.
