JetNation NFL Power Rankings Week 2

As Week Two of the NFL season unfolds, the JetNation NFL Power Rankings highlight the league’s top contenders. The San Francisco 49ers retain their top spot after a dominant performance, while the Chiefs and Lions hold steady. With the season heating up, these rankings give fans a pulse on which teams are on the rise and who might be in trouble early on.

1. San Francisco 49ers (1-0)
Last Week: 1
The Niners ground game served notice to the league on Monday night. The Jets have one of the better defenses in the league, and they were powerless against San Fran’s rushing attack. The Niners were the most impressive team in week one.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)

Last Week: 2
The Chiefs continue to keep Baltimore tied up in knots. It’s almost as though Kansas City let’s the Ravens stay close just so they can crush their hopes in the last quarter. Rashee Rice looks like the next guy the Chiefs will make into a fantasy super star at wideout.

3. Detroit Lions (1-0)
Last Week: 3
The Lions found a way to win on Sunday night. It was a lackluster night given the fact that there were so many key players out of the game for Los Angeles. The secondary was disappointing after the offseason changes.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
Last Week: 4
The Birds allowed the Packers to move the ball much too freely on Friday. Jalen Hurts was turnover prone yet again, but the Eagles will be able to cover their blemishes with all that offensive talent. The defensive lapses need to be addressed for long-term success.

5. Baltimore Ravens (0-1)
Last Week: 5
The Ravens are the AFC’s Cowboys. Nobody will care about Baltimore until they show they can get past KC. If Lamar Jackson continues to outrush Derrick Henry, Baltimore will not get where they want to go this season.

6. Houston Texans (1-0)
Last Week: 8
CJ Stroud showed no signs of a sophomore slump. The running game was the story for Houston. Joe Mixon appears motivated by his unceremonious departure from Cincinnati. If they can limit the big plays on defense, Houston will be a problem in the AFC.

7. Dallas Cowboys (1-0)
Last Week: Unranked
The Cowboys were impressive in overrunning the Browns in Cleveland. The mystery was short lived Sunday as Dallas took control on defense and never let Cleveland get started. The Cowboys seem to be well balanced and more than capable of scoring enough to complement their talented defense.

8. Green Bay Packers (0-1)
Last Week: 6
The Packers dodged a season-ending bullet when Jordan Love was injured in the loss to Philadelphia. If Green Bay can tread water for the few weeks Love will be out, Green Bay will still be a factor in the NFC race.

9. Miami Dolphins (1-0)
Last Week: 9
The defense stepped things up in the second half for Miami. Miami needs more balance to compete in the very difficult AFC East. Tua throwing it nearly 40 times is not going to work for Miami in the long term.

10. Buffalo Bills (1-0)
Last Week: 10
The Bills were thoroughly challenged against the Cards at home. Week one did not show us where the Bills will get the production they lost when Stephon Diggs left town. Buffalo lacks explosive capability and will need to grind it out week to week to score enough points.
