Haason Reddick Ready for More Fines as Holdout Continues?
And just like that, any optimism around the possible return of edge rusher Haason Reddick was all for naught. Jets head coach Robert Saleh met with the media today and said Reddick has not reported to the team. He remains the only player in the NFL still holding out.
There was some hope among Jets fans less than 48 hours ago when Reddick was at a charity event signing Jets merch just as the team cleared $5.8 million in cap space. As it turned out, the only Jets merch at the event was what fans brought themselves. It was not an appearance in which Reddick planned on donning or signing any Jets gear.
Now Saleh has confirmed that Reddick’s extended vacation is going to carry on but also did not rule out the possibility of Reddick playing on Monday night. We’ll believe that when we see it. It’s Thursday of game week and Reddick hasn’t taken a single rep of any kind with his new team. If he plays on Monday night, the Jets are taking an huge risk in having Reddick push too hard and get dinged up.
It’s time for Saleh to shelve any idea of playing Haason Reddick with zero practice reps as a Jet.
Saleh also said wide Receiver Mike Williams will be on a pitch count as he works back from injury, meaning more reps for the likes of Allen Lazard and slot receiver Malachi Corley.
