Jets ink CB Michael Carter II to 3-Year $33 Million Deal

Michael Carter is now the NFL’s highest paid nickel corner as the Jets get an extension done with a key defender for up to $33 million over three years, $19 million of which is guaranteed.

The 2021 fifth-round draft choice out of Duke has established himself as one of the league’s top nickel backs which is now reflected in his salary.

Through his first three NFL seasons, Carter amassed 185 tackles (132 solo), 23 passes defended and two interceptions.  According to the folks at PFF.com, Carter’s coverage grade of 83.3 was seventh in the NFL among all corners with at least 200 coverage snpas.
