Jets Waive Jalen Key, Xazavian Valladay and Al Blades

The Jets and the other 31 NFL teams will spend much of today cutting their rosters from 90 to 53 and Jalen Key is the first Jets draft pick to go.

Taken with the 257th and final pick, Key did very little in preseason action and has been waived according to Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

  • The team has also reportedly waived running back Xazavian Valladay and safety Al Blades.  Valladay spent last season on the Jets practice squad and may return.  Blades, an undrafted free agent out of Duke was always a long shot after signing with Gang Green.
  • Cornerback Tre Swilling has also been let go after a solid camp having come in late in the process.
  • Defensive lineman Jalen Twyman was let go as reported by Aaron Wilson.

Stay tuned to JetNation and the JetNation message boards to talk about all of the cuts and plenty more.
