Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson had another huge day in another Jets practice. This one of course was a joint session with the Carolina Panthers, who the Jets will play this Saturday.
Wilson has made a habit of lighting up DB’s of all shapes, sizes and uniform colors. Be it his own teammates in practice, the Washington Commanders or Panthers.
Aaron Rodgers has spoken in the past about how good Garrett Wilson can be and now it seems he’s happy to just drop back and let it rip to number five no matter the play call or coverage. It really does make one wonder what Wilson’s ceiling will be in 2024. Is 1,400+ yards out of the question? We don’t think so.
Things also got a bit heated between the two teams as punches were thrown on multiple occasions. In once instance cornerback DJ Reed took exception to having a ball tossed at him after getting beat on a deep ball. Later on defensive lineman Michael Clemons held on to running back Chuba Hubbard too long for Hubbard’s liking. He would shove Clemons who retaliated with a punch before both teams clashed on the field.
Most importantly, there were no injuries reported. Neither coach spoke at length about the skirmishes either.
Still no sign of Haason Reddick whose holdout continues. Linebacker CJ Mosley was asked about the holdout and took a diplomatic approach. Mosley said the team is focused on getting ready for the season and spoke respectfully about Reddick’s situation.
