With a roster spot opening up after Tarik Cohen decided to retire, the Jets have added former UFL wide receiver Isaiah Winstead. The 6′ 4” Winstead spent a short time with the San Francisco 49ers before landing with the Arlington Renegades.
A longshot to make the roster at this point, Winstead will join a receiver room that in all reality, only has, at most, two spots up for grabs depending on how many the Jets decide to carry.
During his time in college, Winstead put up 949 yads and four touchdowns through two seasons at Toledo before transferring to East Carolina and blowing up. In his one and only season with the Pirates, Winstead hauled in 88 balls for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns.
This video posted online gives us some idea as to what he does well as Winstead shows off surprisingly quick lateral agility for a 6′ 4” receiver.
