Aaron Rodgers and Haason Reddick Skip Mandatory Minicamp

In a development that certainly won’t cause any overreaction, Aaron Rodgers and Haason Reddick will be skipping mandatory minicamp this week. Jets head coach Robert Saleh confirmed the news and said neither player is as excused absence.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has decided to skip the team’s mandatory minicamp in favor of something “very important to him” according to head coach Robert Saleh.
According to Saleh, Rodgers had something that was “very important to him” that he chose over minicamp while questions about Reddick were directed toward GM Joe Douglas who will not be meeting with the media.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets knew at the time of their deal for Reddick that the edge rusher was in search of a new deal. The Jets, said Cimini, didn’t close the door on the possibility of a long-term deal. They did however express a desire to do one later rather than sooner.
In a perfect world both players would have been present in Florham Park, but that’s clearly not the case. Far from ideal, but also not the end of the world.
