Jets Sign Pair of Young QB’s Following Rook Tryouts
The Jets have reportedly signed three rookie free agents at the conclusion of their rookie camp this weekend with a pair of quarterbacks making the cut along with a cornerback/return man.
Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasely, University of Louisiana-Monroe’s Colby Suits and North Carolina Central cornerback Brandon Codrington were all signed after their tryout.
This of course comes immediately after the Jets selected Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis in the NFL draft last week. This gives the Jets five quarterbacks on their 90-man roster. By far the more mobile of the two, Peasley’s skill set is more in line with what teams look for in their quarterbacks.
Peasley is more able to make plays with his legs and also shows he can beat defenses by letting it rip down the field or dropping in a TD pass perfect touch.
Some good traits emerge while watching newest @nyjets quarterback Andrew Peasley.
– Strong arm
– Solid mobility
– Doesn't back down/wilt under pressure
– Good velocity on mid-range throwsLimited deep shots thus far so hard to comment. pic.twitter.com/b9LxswKpSn

Suits also shows a strong arm and good size at 6′ 4” 240 but a clear lack of mobility may hurt him in the long run.
Codrington, a 5′ 8” cornerback was likely added as a threat on special teams who can also play some nickel corner. According to PFF, the corner allowed 59% completion percentage and 3 touchdowns in coverage.
