Daniel Jeremiah Says Jets Trade up to Fifth; Kiper Says Bowers at 10 in Draft
Does Daniel Jeremiah truly believe this is a possibility or should his latest mock draft projection for the Jets be filed under “just for clicks”?
In his mock draft 3.0, the draft guru has the Joe Douglas, who is already short on draft resources, using capital to trade up from pick number 10 to the fifth pick with the Chargers to select Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Should Joe Douglas opt to make such a splash, Gang Green’s offense should become a force to be reckoned with if quarterback Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy. But Jeremiah isn’t the only pundit who has the Jets taking a game-changing pass catcher.
In his latest mock draft for ESPN.com, NFL draftnik Mel Kiper Jr. has the them adding another pass catcher to help Garrett Wilson by snagging Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.
While fans on social media appear to be torn between taking an offensive tackle or wide receiver, Kiper went with the multi-dimensional Bowers. A tight end in name only, Bowers was used as a slot receiver, boundary receiver, in-line tight end and running back at Georgia.
Should the Jets stay put with the tenth pick versus trading down, Bowers would make sense. Other possibilities that would immediately upgrade the Jets offense would be Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze, LSU WR Brian Thomas, offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga or fellow lineman Olu Fashanu, just to name a few.
Daniel Jeremiah are two of the most respected voices in the draft community and both seem to believe the Jets should wait until later to grab help on the O-line.
