Potential Jets Targets who Shined on day 1 of Senior Bowl Practices

While Rich Cimini of ESPN New York was reporting that Joe Douglas and the New York Jets wee likely to target Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga in the upcoming draft, Fuaga and several other potential Jets targets were having themselves a day at the Senior Bowl down in Mobile, Alabama.

JetNation was live in Mobile and here’s a quick look at which players who could suit Gang Green caught our eye.

OT Taliese Fuaga: As we said in the opneing, Fuaga had a monster day in both team and individual drills.  A thickly built tackle who dominates at the point of attack as a tone setting blocker would be a welcome addition with the 10 pick.

WR Roman Wilson: The Michigan product made big plays on both short and intermediate routes, managing to get separation with his explosiveness and quick feet.  Watch Wilson in college and you’ll also see a tough as nails receiver who doesn’t take take any plays off.

OT Tyler Guyton: One of the top players we watned to watch in Mobile to see how well he sustains his blocks after playing in an offense that has the ball coming out in the blink of an eye, Guyton did not disappoint.  He had several one on one drills in which he more than held up in pass pro which was a very good sign.  Guyton was beaten badly on a great spin move from Houston’s Nelson Ceasar but still had himself a very good day.

WR Luke McCaffrey: Son of Ed and brother of Christian, McCaffrey has a lot to gain in Mobile and on day 1 showed he belonged.  The Rice wide receiver caught everything that came his way and much like his father, showed great determination as a downfield blocker, taking DB’s out of the play.

OT Javon Foster: Foster is a mid-round prospect out of Missouri who has had some good days against some of the top rushers in college football.  Yesterday he more than held his own against another solid group.  Could be a player who starts climbing draft boards as a left tackle.

WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint:  A strong day for Rosemy-Jacksaint who plays bigger than his 6′ 1” frame and has very good body control to go along with excellent hands.

LB Payton Wilson: Wilson clocked in at just over 19 MPH as the second fastest LBer on the day and showed off his trademark motor that jumps out on film every time you watch him.  A strong week here could put him in a spot where the Jets won’t take a linebacker but if he were to fall, he would be an excellent addition.
