Schefter: Jets to add Lineman Rodger Saffold
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Jets have agreed to sign veteran free agent guard Rodger Saffold. Saffold has not played since the 2022 season as a member of the Buffalo Bills. The plan, according to Schefter is for Saffold to join the Jets practice squad before being elevated to the active roster.
Taken in the second-round of the NFL draft by the Rams in 2010, the two-time pro bowler has started 173 games between the Rams, Titans and Buffalo Bills.
With their offensive line ravaged by injuries to Alijah Vera-Tucker, Joe Tippmann, Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer, the Jets were desperate for help along the interior.
