Jets Grab Former Packer Dennis Kelly to Bolster OL

As expected, the Jets have added an offensive tackle to the roster by adding another former Green Bay Packer in Dennis Kelly.  The 6′ 8” Kelly has made several stops in 10 year career, playing for the Eagles, Titans and Colts as well as the Packers.  Kelly has appeared in 130 pro games (54 starts).

Green Bay Packers tackled Dennis Kelly (79) provides pass protection from Houston Texans defensive end Jonathan Greenard (52) during their preseason game Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The Houston Texans beat the Green Bay Packers 26-7.

From his time in Tennessee, Kelly is familiar with Jets offensive line coach Keith Carter.  The pair were with the Titans from 2018-2020.  Kelly started a career high sixteen games under Carter in 2020.

In need of tackle help after losing Alijah Vera-Tucker for the season, the Jets worked out former Cowboys and Bengals tackle La’El Collins yesterday and he’s visiting with the Giants today.
