Breece Hall Running at a Record Setting Pace
It was just another day at the office that had Jets running back Breece Hall running at a record setting pace in going back to last season when he exploded on to the scene as a rookie. After averaging 5.8 yards per rush and 11.5 yards per reception in 2022, Hall was entering this year with high expectations and he did not disappoint in week 1.
By logging 127 yards on 10 carries against the Bills on Monday Night, Hall boosted his average yards per carry to 6.6 yards through eight career games. His yards per catch for his career now sits at 11.9 yards, putting him at a record number in yards per touch according to Dennis Waszak of the Associated press.
The Jets traded up to take Hall in the second round of the 2022 draft and despite missing most of his rookie season due to injury, the Jets have to be very happy with the decision to add a legitimate game breaker outside of the first round.
As the Jets look to work with Zach Wilson at quarterback following Aaron Rodgers’ season ending injury, expect plenty of work for Hall and fellow running back Dalvin Cook. The Jets could also look to incorporate Michael Carter and perhaps even rookie Israel Abanikanda in the near future to spread out the workload and keep Breece Hall running strong.
