Saleh Says Rodgers Situation “not good” as Team Fears Achilles Injury Following 22-16 Victory
It appears year one of the Aaron Rodgers experience will have lasted exactly one pass as Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the situation is “not good” in regards to Rodgers leaving in the first quarter of Gang Green’s thrilling victory against the Buffalo Bills.
The team will be running more tests tomorrow but fans should be bracing themselves for the worst as speculation of an achilles injury started before Rodgers even had his x-rays.
Quarterback Zach Wilson came on in relief of Rodgers and did just enough to keep the Jets in the game before rookie receiver Xavier Gipson ran a punt back for a game winning touchdown. Wilson’s lone touchdown pass came on an incredible catch by receiver Garrett Wilson who looked to be working to avoid having the pass get intercepted and eventually batted the ball to himself.
On defense, the Jets were as advertised. They racked up five sacks, eight quarterback hits and 3 interceptions, all from safety Jordan Whitehead, in limiting the Bills offense to just sixteen points.
