As expected, the New York Jets have brought back punter Thomas Morstead and fullback Nick Bawden. This was a bit of roster gymnastics by the Jets who had two players they had planned on placing on injured reserve.
Offensive tackle Carter Warren and tight end Kenny Yeboah will miss at least the first four weeks of the season after being placed on IR to make room for Morstead and Bawden. Had the Jets placed the two on IR prior to rosters being finalized, it would have meant keeping them on the shelf for the season.
In Bawden, the Jets have a fullback who can block and catch the ball out of the backfield which is preferred by offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
