Jets Begin Adding Pieces to Practice Squad, Trey Dean Returns
With their 53 man roster complete, the Jets are now adding pieces to their practice squad. Safety Trey Dean is one name fans were hoping to see on the Jets list and many others followed.
*S Trey Dean: One of the Jets best defensive players in training camp, Dean was constantly around the ball in the preseason as many fans called for him to stick. He didn’t, but now he’s back.
*QB Tim Boyle: The projected third string QB comes back after not making the initial 53 man roster. Look for him to spend some time on the active roster this season.
*DT Tanzel Smart: Entering his fourth season as a member of the Jets practice squad, Smart has become a fan favorite. Seeing his personality and likability on Hard Knocks has fans pulling for the vet.
QB Tim Boyle is re-signing with the #Jets on their practice squad, source confirms (as @TomPelissero said). To be the 3rd/emergency QB on game day, he must be signed to the roster. It can’t be a practice-squad elevation, per new rule.

*OL Adam Pankey: The Jets were bound to add a tackle or two to their practice squad so they retain a familiar face. Pankey spent last season and this preseason with the Jets.
*DT Marquiss Spencer: Another interior defensive lineman, the former Mississippi State product signed with the team this offseason.
*LB Samuel Eguavoen: Eguavoen had some quality moments in the preseason and was especially impressive this past weekned against the Giants.
*LB Caleb Johnson: Was one of the Jets leading tacklers this preseason after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Miami.
*CB Craig James: James was a busy man this preseason, playing a total of 165 snaps for the Jets who clearly want to get a longer look.
*Nehemiah Shelton: Another cornerback who joined the Jets late, Shelton gets another opportunity to show the Jets what he can do.
*TE Zach Kuntz: Plenty of onlookers thought Kuntz would make the Jets roster after the team used a pick on him at the draft and he did some good things in preseason. The ultra athletic tight end gives the Jets a unique prospect to work with at the position.
RB Xazavian Valladay: Not previously a member of the Jets, but Valladay possesses an impressive blend of speed and power. We first mentioned Valladay during the pre-draft process as his work at Arizona State gave us the impression he could be an under the radar player.
@ASUFootball RB Xazavian Valladay hasn't generated much buzz with the draft approaching, but whether he's a day 3 pick or UDFA, the kid has enough traits to be a good NFL back. pic.twitter.com/8Resqm2LMg

S Tyreque Jones: The Boise State product lacks high end athleticism which makes you wonder right away if the Jets plan on taking a peek at Jones at linebacker. Jones was with the Titans this preseason.
