Jason Brownlee Makes Jets Initial 53 man Roster
While the Jets haven’t officially made it official, it seems undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Jason Brownlee has made the team’s initial 53 man roster. This, according to Brownlee’s own facebook page as shared by Southern Miss reporter Dima Mixon.
Jason Brownlee announces via Facebook that he has made the 53 man roster with the New York Jets. What a accomplishment to go from un-drafted to making the roster.

A player we first profiled as somebody the Jets should keep a close eye on at the NFL combine, Brownlee did not disappoint once he arrived at 1 Jets Drive. Continuing to do what he did in college, Brownlee’s name was consistently mentioned as a pass catcher who was winning his 1-on-1’s and making several eye popping plays.
And the success for Brownlee started early as quarterback Aaron Rodgers mentioned him specifically as a young player who impressed during OTA’s earlier this offseason.
Watch a few @SouthernMissFB games and you're bound to see WR Jason Brownlee make at least one highlight reel grab. Big play receiver who posted 16 TD's over past two seasons while averaging 15.9 YPC over the course of his college career. pic.twitter.com/LjxZ11rNwj

And it was during a recent episode of Hard Knocks that the Jets revealed the fact that Brownlee was viewed by some in the building as a potential future starting receiver with enough talent to get selected in the third round of the NFL draft.
While Brownlee’s production during preseason action wasn’t what some may have hoped for, he did do enough to strengthen the Jets faith in him as a part of the team’s future.
