After making it clear that he deserved to run with the starting offensive line, Jets tackle Mekhi Becton will finally be plugged in at right tackle for the Jets this weekend against the Giants.
It’s a welcome move that was always going to happen as long as Becton managed to stay on the field. He’s the most talented offensive lineman on the roster with a Hall of Fame ceiling. The only thing stopping him from being an all time great is his health which has been an issue ever since he entered the league.
Along with Becton being named a starter, left tackle Duane Brown flew to Texas today in hopes of being medially cleared to return from a shoulder injury while both Laken Tomlinson and Alijah Vera-Tucker will be available for the Giants game along with Becton.
Come week 1 against the Bills, expect a starting five of Brown, Tomlinson, Connor McGovern, Vera-Tucker and Becton. A formidable group if healthy and playing at their ceiling. Aside from questions of health at multiple spots, Tomlinson was a disappointment in year one with Gang Green.
