It took just one padded practice for Jets offensive tackle Mekhi Becton to land in the player rehab area at practice today. We can’t blame you if that fact made you roll your eyes, but this is a major concern for Gang Green.
With a healthy Becton, one could argue that the Jets have a pair of quality starting tackles with him and Duane Brown. Without Becton, the Jets would be down to Brown and presumably Max Mitchell or Billy Turner. In considering the fact that every tackle on their roster has had recent durability issues, one realizes how quickly this situation could deteriorate.
Should the Jets look to add more depth via free agency, there’s not a whole lot to choose from. According to NFL Trade Rumors, the top remaining names on the market include the oft-injured Taylor Lewan, former Jet George Fant and Eric Fisher, Ty Nsekhe, Jason Peters and Marcus Cannon.
