During his press conference on Wednesday, the Aaron Rodgers contract was a big question. Rodgers left out any details of the pact, but now we’ve got them, and it’s simply astonishing. The former Green Bay Packer is leaving a whopping $35 million on the table to remain a Jet on a 2-year $75 million deal with an option for a third season. And to be clear, this isn’t Rodgers moving money around, which is what we tend to see veteran players do, but a flat-out $35 million pay cut. If anyone needed further evidence of Rodgers’ willingness to do what it takes to win with the Jets, this was it.

When Joe Douglas traded for Rodgers, he took on one of the worst contracts in NFL history. Now that deal looks a whole lot better with the dust having settled.
