Jason Brownlee Catching on for Gang Green as Undrafted Free Agent

New York Jets

For those Jets fans unfamiliar with undrafted free agent wide receiver Jason Brownlee, it might be time for you to get to know the Southern Mississippi product. We first took notice of Brownlee back in January before listing him among the top five sleepers on the Jets at combine time. He has been making a name for himself in Jets Camp so far this year.

At Southern Miss Brownlee stood out by continually making one play after another, whether it was a one-handed grab falling out of bounds and keeping his feet in bounds, taking a  short pass the distance and outrunning an entire secondary as he did against Louisiana, or by simply showing incredibly strong hands by pulling the ball down in the middle of multiple defenders.

Brownlee then put himself on the map in OTA’s when quarterback Aaron Rodgers named him as a receiver who has stood out early on.

Now in the opening week of training camp, we’re seeing the 6′ 2” Browlee continue making a name for himself.  Day after day we hear about a Brownlee highlight, including what was reportedly the catch of the day on a Zach Wilson deep ball on which the wideout made a leaping grab over Bradin Echols that saw him rip the ball away from the third-year corner.

One day after another, Brownlee continues to make one play after another.  With Denzel Mims out of the picture, it’s a name you may not know now that you’ll want to start taking note of in the future.
