Following the news earlier today that the Jets would try to move wide receiver Denzel Mims, the team has agreed to ship the once highly thought of receiver to the Detroit Lions for a conditional day 3 draft pick.
Connor Hughes of SNY had the story first. Hughes’ tweet was followed up by NFL insider Ian Rapoport who said the Jets will send Mims and their 2025 seventh-round pick to the Lions for a conditional round six pick in this year’s draft.
By moving Mims, the Jets move on from another failed pick from the 2020 draft class. The only remaining players on the Jets from that group are tackle Mekhi Becton, safety Ashtyn Davis and cornerback Bryce Hall.
Gone are Mims, DE Jabari Zuinga, RB LaMical Perine, QB James Morgan, OL Cam Clark and punter Braden Mann.
