Jets Sign Safety Adrian Amos Following Potentially “Serious Injury” to Chuck Clark

NY Jets

Jets fans thought the team was getting a bit of good news when they improved their secondary by adding former Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears safety Adrian Amos to a room that had already seen Chuck Clark added earlier this season.  But Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic had some cold water to pour on that thought.

According to Rosenblatt, the move for Amos came as a result of Clark suffering what is a potentially “serious knee injury”.  No further details were provided except for the fact that Clark will be seeking a second opinion.

So instead of adding Amos to play alongside Clark and Jordan Whitehead, it appears the move is an effort to replace the injured Clark.

The injury comes as quite a surprise as Clark had 49 games over the past three seasons and is now apparently looking at missing a fair chunk (if not all) of the upcoming season.

In Amos, the Jets get another durable safety with some versatility who hasn’t missed a regular season game since 2017.
