Continuing to find ways to create cap space, the Jets have re-worked the contract of safety Jordan Whitehead, creating an additional $5.3 million in room under the cap.
After having Carl Lawson agree to a pay cut just a couple of weeks ago, the Jets now sit at roughly $24.3 million under the cap in 2023. This, according to overthecap.com.
With approximately $9 million likely to go toward rookies Will McDonald and Joe Tippmann, the Jets realistically have closer to $15 million in real cap space. Consider the fact that teams like to leave themselves some breathing room during the season and that number dips to around $10-12 million.
There are still some moves the Jets could consider in the coming weeks as we mentioned right here and Jets fans shouldn’t be surprised if there are move moves coming.
