Moro Ojomo had both 4-3 DT and 3-4 DE usage at Texas. Quick off the line of scrimmage, with an ability to get to the passer. If he was able to refine his pass rush plan, his size and speed combination could be an intriguing skill set for the upcoming NFL Draft. The Jets could put him in the draft and develop category. Ojomo will be a plus in run defense, although his eye discipline at the mesh point needs to improve. He will likely be a rotational defensive line piece for a team in the NFL, but he does have 3-down ability if teams wanted to use him that way. Above average play strength with a high motor in all phases.

Despite the addition of former Seahawk Quinton Jefferson on what is likely a minimal one-year deal, the Jets still need rotational depth players on the defensive line. Currently on the roster are Jefferson, Quinnen Williams, Solomon Thomas, who re-signed on a low-cost deal, and Tanzel Smart, who spent most of 2022 on the practice squad. New York needs to replace the Sheldon Rankins role in the middle next to Quinnen Williams, and Ojomo could slot into as that pass rush player while providing a more cost-friendly solution to the position. While the Jets don’t own a ton of draft picks like in years past, the 4th round (112th overall) could be a spot where they target the former Longhorn.
