Jets Lose out on Another D-Lineman as Calais Campbell Agrees to Terms With Falcons
Calais Campbell has become the second big name interior defensive lineman that Joe Douglas and the Jets have lost out on this offseason. Scheduled to visit the Jets this Thursday, the Jets calendar is now freed up that day as Campbell will be signing with the Atlanta Falcons.
Sources: The #Falcons are making another splash, as former #Ravens star Calais Campbell intends to sign a 1-year deal with them. The Pro Bowler and former Walter Payton Man of the year will lend leadership to a young team he believes in. And Atlanta adds — again — on defense. pic.twitter.com/L8mjnJjxsc

Earlier this month, the Jets made an offer to Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox before the veteran returned to Philadelphia. With the departures of Sheldon Rankins and Nathan Shepherd, the Jets have some holes to fill up front.
The #Jets signed the top WR on the market. They’re in on both Ben Jones & Odell Beckham Jr. They offered Fletcher Cox a contract they were led to believe he’d accept, until he returned to Philly.
They have a roster that won 7 games *literally* without a QB.

There are still some options on the market to address their interior defensive line, however. We mentioned Shelby Harris here as one option and he may be one of the better options remaining on the market. Chris Wormley of the Steelers could be another option along with Poona Ford.
The Jets could of course address defensive tackle come draft time, but for a team that favors a heavy rotation of lots of bodies, multiple avenues are likely to be explored.
