Jets Re-Sign Solomon Thomas After Losing Rankins and Shepherd in Free Agency
Solomon Thomas will be back with the New York Jets in 2023 after GM Joe Douglas reportedly lost out on free agent Fletcher Cox after a pair of his own linemen departed via free agency.

Both Nathan Shepherd and Sheldon Rankins moved on as Shepherd signed with the Saints and Rankins with the Texans. Zach Rosenblatt of the New York Daily News reported that the team was interested in adding Eagles star lineman Fletcher Cox, but the big man opted to stay in Philly.
The #Jets were trying to reel in Fletcher Cox. Clearly he wasn’t ready to leave the Eagles yet. https://t.co/KfGATIaMFx

Thomas gives the Jets a depth piece on the interior but there is certainly more work to be done given the Jets preference for a heavy defensive line rotation that will be led by Quinnen Williams.
One option could be the recently released Calais Campbell, who was let go by the Baltimore Ravens. The 6′ 6” 300 pound veteran of 15 seasons has spent time with the Cardinals, Jaguars and Ravens prior to being let go in a cost cutting move.
