Trey Wingo: Jets Deal for Rodgers “has Been in Place for a Long Time”
Trey Wingo is apparently the only man on the planet who is plugged in to the inner circle of Aaron Rodgers and willing to talk about it. The first person to break the news of Rodgers meeting to talk with the Jets last week, Wingo spoke on the subject again today and reiterated his tweet from yesterday, saying Rodgers to the Jets is a done deal.
Appearing on Ari Meirov’s podcast, Wingo said the deal between the Jets and Packers has been done since at least Friday but the teams are working through how to announce it.
I had to catch up with Trey Wingo (@wingoz) after his tweet about Aaron Rodgers to the #Jets.
"The tweet I put out is going to happen. The deal has essentially been in place since last Friday. The holdup isn't Aaron."

Wingo even suggested that his tweet may have put things on hold as the Packers work on a proper sendoff for Rodgers. He also said that for that reason, this could drag on in to next week.
Hang in there, folks. It’s been 50 years since the Jets have had a QB, so what’s another week?
