In desperate need of help at safety, Jets GM Joe Douglas has sent a 2024 seventh round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for starting safety Chuck Clark.
Trade: Jets agreed to send a 2024 seventh-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for safety Chuck Clark, per league sources. Trade is agreed to, but cannot be processed until new league year begins Wednesday.

Clark, a starter in the Ravens secondary for the past four seasons, logged a career high 101 tackles in 2022 and has 384 for his career.
A former sixth-round draft choice of the Ravens (186th overall), the Virginia Tech product spent his first two pro seasons as a backup before stepping in as a starter. He’ll count for $2.4 million against the cap this season.
With the Jets looking to free up cap room, the move could be a precursor to another move at safety. Perhaps cutting ties with Jordan Whitehead, whose release would save the team over $7 million.
Over the past two days, the team has saved roughly $9 million by re-working their deal with CJ Uzomah and releasing wide receiver Braxton Berrios.
