You’re Fired! Jets Dump LaFleur Following Team’s Offensive Collapse to Close out 2022 Season
In a decision that likely came from above, Jets head coach Robert Saleh will have a new offensive coordinator on his staff when the 2023 season kicks off. This, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
News: The Jets and OC Mike LaFleur have parted ways, per source. Teams have inquired about his availability in recent days and the #Jets have allowed him to pursue those opportunities, per source. The search for a new OC starts tomorrow.

There have been rumblings surrounding the job security of Mike LaFleur over the past few weeks. Earlier today there were conflicting reports regarding the future of LaFleur in the Jets but we now have our answer.
According to Cimini, other clubs have inquired about LaFleur’s availability and the team hasn’t stopped him from pursuing a new job.
One of Robert Saleh’s closest friends on and off the field, LaFleur becomes the fall guy after the Jets saw their offense fail to score a single touchdown over the season’s final three weeks at the end of a six game losing streak.
And one name to watch, as @ChrisSchubert_ pointed out on Draft Dudes, is Senior Offensive Assistant Greg Olson.
21 years experience + LA won’t block a lateral coaching opp. Maybe add him to the room in New York with LaFleur. Worked with Carr in OAK/LV.@JetNation #TakeFlight https://t.co/Q2Xu9YGlHO

Look for the Jets to target a play caller with a track record of working with and developing young quarterbacks such as Greg Olson of the Rams who has worked with Derek Carr who could be another target of the Jets in the coming weeks and months.
