The Jets played their final game of the season much like the handful of games that preceded it. A stingy defense with a non-existent offense combined for another lifeless loss.
The loss dropped the Jets to 7-10 on the season and currently has them slated to pick 13th in the upcoming NFL draft.
The only real life the Jets showed on offense came courtesy of wide receiver Garrett Wilson who hauled in nine balls for 89 yards. Wilson was over 100 yards for the fourth time this season at one point before losing 11 yards on the games final play that consisted of multiple backward laterals.
On the ground there was no running room for an offense that lined up with three backup lineman and their 3rd quarterback in Joe Flacco. All told, jets backs combined for 38 yards on 20 carries.
Having made the leap from doormat to playoff contender, 2023 has to be the season in which Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh guide the Jets to the post-season or it may be time for a bigger reset than the one the team has planned for Zach Wilson.
