Max Mitchell out With Dislocated Kneecap
More bad news on the injury front for the Jets at the offensive tackle position. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, rookie tackle Max Mitchell suffered a dislocated kneecap in yesterday’s win. It’s the same injury suffered by Mekhi Becton two seasons ago. In Becton’s case, his 5-8 weeks turned out to be nearly a full season. With Mitchell being significantly lighter than Becton, the team will undoubtedly hope his rehab goes according to plan.
The #Jets got some positive injury news: Sources say OL Max Mitchell did not suffer a season-ending knee injury. While he did have a dislocation and will miss several weeks, Mitchell should be back long before the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the injury leaves the Jets even further depleted at the tackle spot. Already without Mekhi Becton, Duane Brown and George Fant, the Jets had right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker step in and play left tackle against the Steelers on Sunday. While Brown is expected back in the near future, until he takes some live reps, the Jets won’t know what to expect.

The Jets may end up turning to the recently added Mike Remmers or Cedric Ogbuehi. Stay tuned.
