Like an 80’s cartoon character using every hand, foot, finger and toe to plug a leaky dam, Joe Douglas is shuffling his roster and practice squad due to multiple injuries at left tackle. Without Mekhi Becton, George Fant or Duane Brown available to plug in at left tackle, Douglas has added veteran lineman Cedric Ogbuehi from the Houston Texans practice squad.
Ogbuehi has played in 60 career games (30 starts) after being taken in the first round of the 2015 draft by the Bengals. Over the course of his career, Ogbuehi has spent time with the Bengals, Jaguars, Seahawks and Ravens before landing with the Texans.
With only Max Mitchell and Conor McDermott currently active, the Jets had to make a move somewhere. In addition to Ogbuehi, the Jets officially added veteran tackle Mike Remmers to their practice squad. Remmers will likely be activated once the team feels he’s up to speed with the Jets offensive play book.
