Jets Place LT Brown on Short-Term IR, Elevate Hermanns From Practice Squad
The Jets were hit with more bad news on the injury front today as left tackle Duane Brown landed on short-term IR with a shoulder injury.
#Jets LT Duane Brown will be placed on IR today with the hope he’ll be back in a few weeks, sources say. Brown and doctors discussed multiple options, including surgery, but Brown wants to rehab and try to return as soon as Week 5.

Brown reportedly considered surgery for his injury but instead opted for rehab in hopes of returning as early as week five. This is clearly a blow to Gang Green who had hoped Brown would replace the injured Mekhi Becton who is out for the year with a knee injury.
Hermanns, an undrafted free agent out of Purdue who stuck around after signing last season now finds himself on the active roster. Given the injures to Becton, Brown and a recently recovered Conor McDermott, the Jets are pretty thin at tackle so Hermanns gets the call.
