It looks like pre-season roster tweaking has begun for Joe Douglas and the New York Jets. With veterans reporting, the team activated Mekhi Becton, Carl Lawson and CJ Uzomah.
They then followed that up by bringing in some depth in other spots.
Quarterback Chris Streveler, WR Rashard Davis, O-lineman Isaiah Williams.
Williams spent time with the Jets last season while Streveler suited up for the Dolphins and Cardinals. Davis has spent time with the Eagles, Radiers, Chiefs and Titans. In fact, Davis and Douglas were in Philadelphia at the same time, meaning the GM will have some familiarity with the receiver/return man. Davis is also coming off of a solid season as a return man in the USFL.
The 6′ 2” 225 Streveler has made the journey from college wide receiver to pro quarterback. Streveler has appeared in just seven pro games (0 starts), attempting only a handful of passes, going 17-25 with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
To make room for the trio, the Jets parted ways with wide receiver DJ Montgomery, cornerback Craig James and offensive lineman Dru Samia.
