Douglas Continues to Comb Free Agency as Jets Host Tackle Reily Reiff

Well aware of the Jets questions at offensive tackle with George Fant and Mekhi Becton atop his depth chart, Jets GM Joe Douglas is still poking around in free agency to possibly add a veteran tackle.  Former Detroit Lion and Cincinnati Bengals lineman Reily Reiff visited with the Jets today.

Reiff, a former first-round pick with the Lions, has started 139 games since entering the league in 2012 and could be this year’s version of Morgan Moses.  An experienced tackle who could be asked to step in and start should the Jets be without the services of Becton or Fant during the 2023 season.

After suffering a week 14 ankle injury that ended his 2022 season prematurely, Reiff hit free agency and is still looking for a club.  Reiff’s addition would be a welcome one for Jets fans.  With Joe Douglas having re-built the O-line over the past two seasons, nobody wants the Jets to start 2023 without a viable backup.  In Reiff, the Jets would have just that with a  player who has played both left and right tackle in his time as a pro.
