Jets Week 16 Inactive List vs Jaguars: Backups Galore with 19 Players on Covid List
Coming off a frustrating 31-24 loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Jets were rattled with a slew of players added to the Covid-19/Reserve List. In total, a league high 19 players are on the list and will be out for today’s game. These names include:
- QB Joe Flacco
- WR Elijah Moore
- TE Ryan Griffin
- TE Kenny Yeboah
- G Alijah Vera-Tucker
- G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
- DL Foley Fatukasi
- DL Jonathan Marshall
- DL Quinnen Williams
- DE John Franklin-Myers
- LB Hamsah Nasirildeen
- CB Michael Carter II
- S Ashtyn Davis
- S Sharrod Neasman
Five Practice Squad players are also on the Covid-19/Reserve List:
- WR Vyncint Smith
- DL Jabari Zuniga
- DL Tanzel Smart
- LB Noah Dawkins
- CB Lamar Jackson
As replacements, OL Isaiah Williams, TE Dan Brown, WR D.J. Montgomery, LB LaRoy Reynolds, DE Ronnie Blair, DL Freedom Akinmoladun and S Elijah Benton were elevated from the practice squad. CB Justin Hardee and WR Jeff Smith were activated off the Covid-19 list this week and will be available to play.
On offense, WR Jamison Crowder is inactive with a calf injury. RBs La’Mical Perine and Austin Walter are also inactive. LT George Fant, who missed last week’s game with a knee injury, came in as questionable and will play today.
Defensively, S Elijah Riley is out after suffering a concussion last week, and the team signed S Kai Nacua earlier this week as depth at the position. Sheldon Rankins comes in as questionable with a knee injury, but he is going to play. Quinnen Williams was placed on the Covid-19/Reserve List earlier this morning.
In coaching news, Head Coach Robert Saleh tested positive this week and will not be present for the game. TE Coach Ron Middleton will take his place in the interim. Also, QB Coach Rob Calabrese will not be at the game, and Matt Cavanaugh is expected to take over his duties. Here is the full inactive list for today’s game:
