Jets head coach Robert Saleh met with the media today and said the team could be without linebacker CJ Mosley on Sunday. One of the team’s top players thus far, Mosley has a balky hamstring.
Jets fans most certainly cringed after hearing the news, given the fact that Mosley has essentially missed two full seasons. Finally having an impact, the linebacker’s status is up in the air.
Should Mosley have to sit, expect to see linebacker Noah Dawkins, who had a solid pre-season with the Jets and has been on the team’s practice squad since the start of the season. The Jets will also be without linebacker Jarrad Davis who was expected to return this week.
The absence of Davis will mean another start for Quincy Willlams. It was previously unkown as to how Williams and Davis would share reps. Williams has been a force over the past three weeks, picking up 26 tackles (4 for loss), 2 QB hits, a sack and 3 forced fumbles.
